Youth Programs
Youth Programs
Congregation Shearith
Israel offers a wide variety of fun and recreational opportunities for
synagogue youth. Spanning from kindergarten to 12th grade, our youth groups
create lasting bonds of friendship and strong ties to Jewish practices
and values. CSI Youth Groups offer a positive environment in which our
children and their families can grow both socially and religiously as
they participate in exciting programs and activities.
We offer the following Youth Groups to serve
Shearith families:
Shorashim (K-2)
Chalutzim (3-5)
Shorashim- and Chalutzim-age children participate in social, religious,
and family-oriented programs throughout the year such as Chanukah menorah-making
and pajama Havdalah nights.
Kadima (6-8)
Kadima is an introductory group to our teen youth programs. Kadima members
participate in monthly activities such as rock climbing, bowling, and
laser tag.
USY (9-12)
USY is our teen youth group and is a part of the regional and international
structure of United Synagogue Youth. On a local level, teens participate
in activities such as going to professional sports games, Shabbaton overnights,
pool parties, charity projects, and movie nights. Teens also have the
opportunity to attend regional conventions throughout the year to form
friendships with USYers from all over Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Additionally, USYers have the chance to attend international convention
to meet Jewish teens from all USY chapters worldwide.
We encourage you and your children to get involved with
our youth programs and enjoy all the wonderful resources CSI has to offer.
