SISterhood FUNDRAISING

SISterhodd hosts fundraising events each year which generate revenue to support our shul. Most of our fundraising income comes from the High Holiday Booklet and our annual Major Fundraising Event. The High Holiday Booklet is a pamphlet in which you may purchase greetings, blessings, and memorials for your family members. It is a lovely and generous way to honor your loved ones at the Jewish New Year. For more information about the High Holiday Booklet, you may contact Hank Pollock at hankp112@aol.com or (972)239-4173.

The annual Major Fundraising Event is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It has evolved over the years and has taken many forms. Whether it is a Casino Night, Comedy Club, Mystery Night, Theater Night or Second Chance Prom, the Major Fundraising Event has become a very special evening including a Silent Auction and Raffle. One can support this event through various underwriting options, sponsorship, attendance and volunteer opportunities. You will not want to miss this special occasion! For more information you may contact our Fundraising Vice Presidents, Elise Greenberg at elisehope@sbcglobal.net (972)239-4006 or Nancy Roffman at nroffman99@yahoo.com (972)380-5690.

SISterhood offers other fundraising programs as well. We are in the midst of creating a new SISterhood cookbook called, KOSHER CHIC, A Gourmet Guide for Holidays and Entertaining. It will offer a combination of new, fresh, contemporary style of kosher cooking along with our favorite traditional recipes we couldn’t live without. If you would like to submit recipes for the new cookbook or would like to be a part of this exciting endeavor, please contact our cookbook chairs: Marsha Levine at spaaarkylev@aol.com (972)458-7807, Hank Pollock at hankp112@aol.com (972)239-4173 or Elaine Rutchik at rutchik@aol.com (214)363-2800. And if you are interested in theater, SISterhood selects and sells tickets to several shows from the Dallas Summer Musicals. We are able to secure premier seating to some of the most entertaining shows of the season. Share in the fun and camaraderie of theater with SISterhood. For additional information, contact Debbie Weinstein at hweinst451@aol.com or (972)248-4940.

Mah Jongg players have the opportunity to purchase their annual Mah Jongg cards through SISterhood. Orders are usually placed by the beginning of January. For each card you purchase, SISterhood receives money back to our organization. Furthermore, SISterhood will be hosting the annual Mah Jongg Tournament in February. You can all be winners enjoying the game of Mah Jongg knowing you contributed to our shul! To order your new card, you may contact Hank Pollock at hankp112@aol.com or (972)239-4173. For more information about the annual Mah Jonng Tournament, please contact Gail Mizrahi at gmizrahi@sidraninc.com or (972)735-0083.

Prior to Pesach each year, the Religious School students sell Passover Candy. This fundraising effort features confections from Barton’s Candy, all Kosher for Passover. The proceeds benefit the Religious School. For more information or to order your 2008 Passover Candy, please contact Amy Harberg at aharberg@harberg.com or (469)232-0500.
